Described by an Amazon reviewer as "One of the most dramatic stories in X-Men history."

The review continues thus: "When Magneto returns to his Acolytes and becomes more of a threat to humanity than ever before, all of the X-teams become engaged in battle in this then shocking cross over; the effects of which were felt in the X-books for almost a decade. Many memorable moments are to be found here including the fight between Magneto and Cable which leaves Cable a bloody, ripped apart mess, Colossus betraying the X-Men and siding with Magneto, Magneto ripping the adamantium out of Wolverine's body, and the final showdown between Magneto and Professor X; the culmination of which would create the Onslaught storyline years later which crossed through every Marvel title and caused the deaths of the Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, and countless other heroes. If your interested in picking this collection up, I'd go for the single issues (each of which had really cool covers with an attached hologram card) instead of this TPB. All in all, this is one of the most dramatic X-stories in years, and undoubtadly one of the best."

FATAL ATTRACTIONS plot from wikipedia:

"The saga began in Uncanny X-Men #304 with the X-Men burying the deceased Illyana Rasputin, or Magik, who was felled by the Legacy Virus. Magneto (who had previously defeated Cable and X-Force in X-Force #25) and the Acolytes crashed the funeral, stating their intentions to wipe humanity from their space station, Avalon. Colossus, distraught over his sister's death and faltering in his faith in Professor X and his dream, joined Magneto and the Acolytes.

"In X-Men #25, Magneto unleashes a electromagnetic pulse on the Earth that creates havoc on the worlds electrical systems. Seeing the potential danger and the threat of Magneto, Professor X assembles a team of X-Men to go to Avalon and stop Magneto . The team consisted of Professor X (in a Shi'ar exoskeleton that enabled walking), Jean Grey, Gambit, Rogue, Quicksilver and Wolverine. Once aboard Avalon, they manage to enter a virus created by Beast into the system, disabling the space station. Magneto engages the X-Men in battle, and in a fit of rage, Magneto tears Wolverine's adamantium out of his skeleton through his pores. Professor X, finally enraged by Magneto's actions, declares "No more, Magnus" and mindwipes Magneto, leaving him in a coma. The X-Men race back to Earth to treat Wolverine, while Colossus is left in a devastated Avalon to care for the comatose Magneto.

"As the Blackbird races back to Earth in Wolverine #75, it runs into rough turbulence and chaos ensues as flashes of Wolverine's consciousness are shown. In reality, the X-Men on Earth watch in horror as the crew frantically tries to stabilize the ship and care for Wolverine. A ship's hatch opens, and as Wolverine is seen "going towards the light", he is pushed back. He ends up pulling Jean Grey away from getting sucked out of the Blackbird and facing certain death. The X-Men make it back to Earth safe. Later, we learn that Wolverine had recovered fully from his injuries, and it is revealed that his claws were a part of his actual skeletal structure all along, as he now has a set made of bone."

Not only that; all issue come in holographic covers.
