THE MAXX by Sam Keith and DARKER IMAGE

This SIXTH COMIC is actually interesting. Unfortunately I wasn't able to follow it: only the first and second issues. I think it was even featured as a cartoon series on MTV, just like Aeon Flux and Daria. I'm selling #1 and giving #2 for free (My friend spilled ice cream on the cover).

Something from wikipedia (Thanks!):

"After Julie was beaten, raped, and left to die by someone she got out of her car to help, she started hiding in The Outback, where she had control. In The Outback she was The Leopard Queen, and she ruled over everything. She then tried to block out the horror that had happened to her in the real world...

"One of the dominant concepts of The Maxx is that every human being has a spirit animal, which is linked to the person during a pivotal moment in their life. Julie's spirit animal is a rabbit. When she was very young Julie rescued an injured rabbit that lay in the road in front of her house (as seen in The Maxx #10). Julie later witnesses her mother bludgeoning the rabbit to death with a shovel as form of euthanasia. This traumatic event linked the rabbit to Julie's subconscious..."

Pretty psyched stuff if you ask me. The art is great.

THE MAXX also appears in another title, which I only have the first issue of: DARKER IMAGE#1 (banner above), which also billets DEATHBLOW (#1-2 also on sale) and Bloodwulf.

I really don't know the purpose of this title. A sampler comic? A triptych of the "darker" heroes of Image whose live will ocnverge by an unexpected turn of events? THE MAXX and DEATHBLOW seem pretty normal fare to me; actually, they're great. See posts below for DEATHBLOW.
